Yes Mo, Rocks Are Really Big

'Darn it all! It appears that I was not quiet as 'clear' about why the sea level is rising, if it is at all, which I'm not totally saying it is or not, but just in case it is I will attempt to explain this away in as few words as possible.
So, it's like this; It has been brought to my acute attention that I may or may not have mentioned something about "rocks" as a possible cause of this sea level issue. And here's why "rocks" are, according to my unscientific calculations, the cause of this high water mark that seems to be up around my silly arse already. You see, rocks are really hard, and, a lot of them are really big, although I will grant you that some are small. Now the big ones are really heavy, have you ever tried to lift one? Which means that the small ones are not as heavy. Of course there are sizes in between that may be heavy or light. I carry a lot of those right up here in my head. And of course there's dirt and dust, I don't know how much they weigh, but boy, there's alot of it laying around so it must weigh something, or not. So as we all know, rocks are falling into the water, especially in the ocean all the time. And I know for 'fact' that the "White Cliffs of Dover", and the "California coastline" are the biggest offenders in all this. We need to put a fence up to stop it from falling into the ocean, or put up some 'No Fall Zone' signs. That's alot of rocks! Everytime one falls in, the water rises. When a lot of them fall in, the water goes even higher. Loose rocks, really big ones, all over the world are falling into the oceans. And then there's really big ships floating out there. And there's really big fish like whales, and sharks in the water. And when people go diving and swimming it goes up. And when it rains a lot out there it goes up. All those things make the water higher. But climate change? No, not even close folks, no way, nothing to it at all. It's the "rocks" people, the rocks! Just forget all that other baloney! Fake news! All we need to do is go out there and get those rocks out of the water, and everything will be alright again. See, that's the answer. It's that simple, or my name ain't Mo Brooks, 'The enlightened Congressman'.'

The stupid, it burns: GOP Congressman Mo Brooks claims falling rocks are to blame for rising sea levels, not climate change.

Sshhhhhh...don't tell denier, GOP Congressman Mo Brooks.
About this article
On human timescales, sediment and rocks flowing into the ocean do not appreciably contribute to observed sea level rise; on larger timescales, the question is irrelevant.
