Linda Defines Homophobia

Well, it’s that time again – time to get out the Christmas list and start hitting the stores.
The problem is – what stores? For any Christian who wants to spend hard-earned dollars with family-friendly, Christian-affirming retailers, restaurants and service providers, the list is growing shorter all the time.
I stopped shopping at Macy’s in 2011 after learning about the retailer’s grossly unjust policy against women. Macy’s management said “yes” to a transsexual young man’s demand to change in the women’s dressing room and rejected a Christian employee’s attempt to block his inappropriate access, even firing her because of her principled actions.
And Macy’s star balloons are now a regular feature of most “gay pride” parades.
Then there’s Target. Where to start? Selling “gay pride” T-shirts a few years back was bad enough, but Target is now “proudly standing” with homosexuals and cross-dressers who want to change America’s 1964 Civil Rights Act to add “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” through what pro-family colleague Peter LaBarbera is calling the “Criminalizing Christianity Act.”
This unjust and unequal “Equality Act,” H.R. 3185 and S. 1858, should be vigorously opposed by every thinking, Constitution-loving American, including every GOP presidential candidate.
Commitment to a veto is what we want for Christmas, folks.
Joining Target in supporting this anti-American, pro-deviance legislation are Amazon, General Mills, Google, Facebook, Paypal, Levi-Strauss and others.
Which brings us to another recent traitor, Wal-Mart. This one-time reliable backer of Judeo-Christian standards has gone to the dark side in a big way. Wal-Mart put pressure on the governors of Arkansas and Indiana to oppose religious freedom bills. Why would Wal-Mart side with sexual anarchists against the First Amendment liberties of all Americans to oppose homosexual behavior?
But their unfaithfulness doesn’t end there. Wal-Mart is now a financial backer of deviant “gay pride” parades. What happened to this company? Do not shop there, people!
If you’re thinking toys, avoid Mattel. They just created “Moschino Barbie” with an ad featuring a tragically feminized little boy who plays with Barbies, a wicked accommodation to the current gender-destructive culture.
And don’t get me started on the many in-your-face insults of JC Penney, like ads featuring homosexuals, even on Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, and choosing as a national spokesperson lesbian Ellen DeGeneres. Did they plan to be so purposely offensive? Seems to be the case.
This all happened a few years ago, but should we forgive and forget? No, because the company apparently learned nothing from its sales decline after these miscalculations, but now scores a 100 percent on a report called the Corporate Equality Index.
And this is not an achievement. Other names would fit this “index,” such as the “Top Opponents of American Freedom and Morality.”
Or perhaps, “Satan’s Office Party.”
The CEI is compiled each year by one of the nation’s leading self-declared enemies of Christians, the inaccurately-named Human Rights Campaign.
Workplaces are rated on how much they load their policies with pro-homosexual deception, demanding their suppliers do the same. Does the company mandate employee respect for open homosexual behavior or for men who dress as women? That’s a plus in this upside down, insane report.
Companies get more points by forcing pro-sodomy “diversity” classes on workers, and still more by donating to anti- marriage campaigns, supporting so-called “non-discrimination” bills like the “Equality Act,” or opposing religious freedom bills (RFRAs). Sponsoring shameful “pride” events is worth more points on this creepy yardstick of American decline.
And points are deducted for supporting authentic marriage or moral standards. This is not “equality” but sexual fascism.
So here are some major retailers where you might be tempted to shop this Christmas season, except that these businesses receive a 100 percent on this scorecard. In other words, Human Rights Campaign loves them as reliable supporters of sexual depravity.
Just remember, these businesses don’t want you as a customer; they apparently care little about freedom of conscience rights for their workers or patrons.
The 100 percent list includes Best Buy, Abercrombie & Fitch, American Eagle Outfitters, Barnes & Noble, CVS, Dell, DIRECTV, E-Bay, Ford Motor Co., The Gap (includes Old Navy and Banana Republic), General Motors, Hallmark, Home Depot, IKEA, JC Penney, Levi-Strauss & Co., Macy’s, Mattel, Nationwide, Nike, Nissan, Nordstrom, Office Depot, Staples, Starbuck’s, Target, TJX Companies ( owns TJ Maxx and Marshall’s), Volkswagen and Walgreen’s.
It might be tough to never shop at any of these, but at least we can do what’s possible.
Retailers with a relatively low score – meaning they do little to promote homosexuality and gender confusion and would be more deserving of our business – are The Anderson’s, Auto Zone, Bed Bath & Beyond, Big Lots, Burlington Stores, Casey’s General Store, Cooper Tire & Rubber Co., Cracker Barrel, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Dillard’s, DISH Network Corp., Dollar Tree, Family Dollar Stores, Foot Locker, Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., Harley-Davidson, Harry & David, The Jones Group–New York, Kohl’s Corp, LL Bean, Lowe’s Companies, Oshkosh Corp., Pep-Boys, Publix Super Markets, RadioShack Corp. and Sherwin-Williams.
Now there is another measure that you may want to look at, and that is how much these companies actually mention Christmas in their advertising and promotion. Go to the American Family Association’s Naughty or Nice Christmas List. Some of the worst offenders above (the 100 percent group) ironically rate highly on the “Nice” dimension this year. So it can be confusing. Comparing the two lists might be a good idea.
And the website 2nd Vote also provides information about corporate policies, including how a business scores on the metric of pro-life vs. pro-abortion.
But let’s remember: No one is born homosexual; the Bible is clear about this sin, and God hasn’t changed His mind. Think about the grave harm homosexuality is doing to American culture, to our schools, to our freedoms, to our churches.
Let’s do what we can to honor the standards of Christ during the celebration of His birthday.
